May 19, 1, Yeah, F-Zero is kind of a nothing IP these days, but Star Fox has been mismanaged for like two decades at this point, so it's hard to say that it's much better off. Looking at their games: Metroid Prime isn't a spinoff, because it maintains the same core gameplay and design of Metroid, just in 3D yes, some things are different; but it's far from a spin-off.

And both DKC games are simply normal sequels not to understate how great Tropical Freeze is, but it isn't a spinoff. Glio Member. Oct 27, 7, Spain. EAD Ninja said:. While both franchises saw high points of success early in their life, it's hard not to acknowledge the potential of their universe if Nintendo managed to release a high quality iteration of these franchises, at an opportune time on a healthy enthusiastic user base. The Nintendo Switch is in the next two-three years, is probably a good window for that.

Oct 27, 8, Star Fox's character designs were outdated the second they were introduced and that's why they're good. Oct 30, 1, Glio said:. With Star Fox you can do something rarely done: "3D" races, there are both up and down as right and left. I don't think anyone considers 3D Mario a spin-off of 2D Mario.

I doubt even Nintendo think this. Super Mario - the main game series any title that has 'Super Mario' in it and is a platformer - includes both 3D and 2D iterations. You seem to mis-understand what a spin-off is. But I can see why people think that way. Metroid Prime still has the same core gameplay concepts - platforming albeit toned down in Prime , shooting and exploration - that debuted even in the original Metroid. Metroid Prime is an extension of the Metroid formula, not a break from it, as would be expected with a spin-off.

Starfox and F-Zero have both character designs that are quite outdated, they have not passed the test of time as well as Mario, Samus or Pikachu.

Oct 26, 14, I don't know about you guys but I look forward to Star Fox GP looking considerably better than Zero while playing very similar and people still calling it a spin-off. Outdated character designs in the Nintendo universe? A world where Pikachu, Kirby, and Captain Toad exist? It's not about a particular character design, but the overall scope of the universe and most importantly, a quality game taking advantage of it.

It is difficult to achieve massive success with something that you like in an ironic way. The designs in SF0 were good, but other than Captain Falcon in Smash, the F-Zero designs are all 'outdated' because they last got updated like 16 years ago.

Even some of the names are outdated now. MondoMega Member.

Jan 10, 16, Sydney, Australia. It's a different genre with different conventions and enemies, just like Prime and 2D Metroid has. By your definition Hey Pikmin is not a spin off because the "core" elements are the same. MondoMega said:. It's a shame that Mr.

Mister EPD should have a beard. SeanR Member. Oct 26, 1, So whats the general thought? Retro was working on a game up until that was canned the tweet from that one former employee references this project then moved on to star fox racing. And now that they are wrapping that up, they stepped up for Metroid? I have doubts that something like how something like Slippy can be a gigantic success. It is a similar problem that I see to ip as Wave Racer or , they were born in very specific circumstances the boom of extreme sports in the s that no longer exist.

Kid Icarus Uprising is a good example of renewing a franchise, giving it an modern anime aesthetic far removed from the original. F-Zero and Star Fox would need radical changes in their image. SeanR said:. Dark Cloud Member. Oct 27, 33, Liam still believes in Star Fox GP in his latest podcast. He had heard it looked amazing I think he was the only one to say this. With Star Fox, I would maybe lean a little bit more into an anime look, rather than trying to be realistic CGI furries, which I think can look a little weird.

But that would just be my take. I do not know, I think both ip have possibilities to grow but not very much either. Something ARMS level, maybe. Look at his stats. Oct 25, 13, New Jersey. Malcolm Gladwell. Malcolm Gladwell, host of the podcast Revisionist History and author of the 1 New York Times bestseller Outliers, offers a powerful examination of our interactions with strangers--and why they often go wrong. Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise?

Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? Talking to Strangers is a classically Gladwellian intellectual adventure, a challenging and controversial excursion through history, psychology, and scandals taken straight from the news. He revisits the deceptions of Bernie Madoff, the trial of Amanda Knox, the suicide of Sylvia Plath, the Jerry Sandusky pedophilia scandal at Penn State University, and the death of Sandra Blandthrowing our understanding of these and other stories into doubt.

Something is very wrong, Gladwell argues, with the tools and strategies we use to make sense of people we don't know. And because we don't know how to talk to strangers, we are inviting conflict and misunderstanding in ways that have a profound effect on our lives and our world. In his first book since his 1 bestseller, David and Goliath, Malcolm Gladwell has written a gripping guidebook for troubled times. Where the Crawdads Sing. Delia Owens. I didn't want this story to end! So in late , when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl.

But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. Then the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved. When two young men from town become intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new life--until the unthinkable happens.
